Marlar was born in Myanmar with a natural creative instinct. In a time of turbulence in the country, she felt a passion growing to produce jewellery and other fashion items that would reflect the beauty and strength of Myanmar women.

She is a proud mother of a daughter and son and the painting displayed is her daughter's work. Named "Equa" (a mare or female horse in Latin), it represents female strength, beauty and unrestrained independence.
