Cabeiro
Cabeiro
An exquisitely beautiful sea Nymph who was worshipped in ancient times on the Island of Lemnos in the Aegean Sea. She was the daughter of the shape-shifting Greek God Proteus and became the consort of the Greek God of metallurgy and artisanship Hephaestus.
Hephaestus was famous for his ability to work with metals and is renowned for creating almost every finely-wrought metalwork imbued with powers that appear in Greek myth. He designed Hermes' winged helmet and sandals, the Aegis breastplate, Aphrodite's famed girdle, Agamemnon's staff of office, Achilles' armour, Diomedes' cuirass, Heracles' bronze clappers, Helios' chariot, the shoulder of Pelops, and Eros's bow and arrows making those whose skin was pierced fall madly in love.
Cabeiro bore three sons and three daughters through their union. The daughters also became sea nymphs known as the Cabeirians after her name. Each daughter was equally alluring and beautiful, but each in their own unique way.
Theses earrings are a reflection of Hephaestus, Cabeiro, and their three sea nymph daughters so revered by all in those ancient times. These handcrafted sterling silver chains and clasps are embedded with raw spinel of different colours, moonstone, amethyst, and pink tourmaline.
