According to Ovid, as Chloris talked, her lips breathed out spring roses. She was a Nymph who was associated with spring, flowers and new growth. Also known as Flora by the Romans, she was believed to have dwelt in the Elysian Fields. She is also reputed to have been responsible for the transformations of Adonis, Attis, Crocus, Hyacynthus and Narcissus into flowers.
