Erinoma
Erinoma
Erinoma, a Cypriot maiden of unparalleled beauty and purity was greatly favoured by the Goddesses Artemis and Athena. Zeus, the most powerful of all the Gods fell madly in love with her, while she was also courted by the mortal Adonis, widely considered to be the ideal of male beauty in classical antiquity. In order to evade their undesired attentions, Artemis turned Erinoma into a peahen. Her metamorphoses was later reversed and she succumbed to Adonis’ amorous intentions and became his wife.
The peacock is revered symbol across many cultures and myths not only in Ancient Greece, but also across Asia. This magnificent, opulent bird is inevitably associated with royalty, beauty and power, and they are sometimes accredited with an immortality, perhaps earned through their ability to overpower and kill even the largest and most venomous snakes.
The sterling silver signet ring with a debossed, fanned train peacock, is adorned with a natural Myanmar ruby. This statement piece epitomises the great beauty and irrepressible allure of Erinoma, along with the majestic grace and strength of the peacock.
Lovely pendants are available too.
