Galatea
Galatea
In Ancient Greek Mythology, Pygmalion was a sculptor. He was unable to find true love and spent most of his time in solitude working on his artistry. And then he produced his most perfect piece of work, an ivory sculpture of a woman he called Galatea.
Pygmalion fell in love with his sculpture which he envisaged as the perfect woman. He prayed relentlessly to Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, to let him meet this perfect, beautiful, caring and sensual woman. Aphrodite felt sympathy for Pygmalion and granted his wish. She turned his statue into a living woman and Pygmalion and Galatea fell immediately in love.
This sterling silver ring epitomises the perfect union of passionate love and the story of Divine destiny. The ring embraces a pale pink pyramid rose quartz and a deeper pink rose quartz and is the embodiment of two coming together in union.
