Perseid
Perseid
In Ancient Greek Mythology, Perseid is associated with bright and brilliant meteorite displays in the night skies. Giving blazing and colourful displays, the first documented observation of the Perseid meteor shower was as early as 36 A.D. The viewing was referenced in the Chinese annals.
The name Perseids means the sons of Perseus. In Greek mythology, Perseus was renowned for slaying the fearsome Gorgon Medusa and was the founder of the Perseid dynasty of Danaans. His constellation was first discovered by Ptolemy, the Greek astronomer, in the second century.
This handcrafted sterling silver pendant adorned with a striated tourmaline and cabochon spinel embraces the beauty of a meteorite shower. Passion, strength, fascination, towards which all are drawn.
