Pénélope
Pénélope
According to Homer’s classic writings in the Odyssey, Pénélope was the beautiful wife of the Greek war hero and regal head of Ithaca, Odysseus. During his many years of absence while battling against the Trojans, she was pursued by many suitors, both deities and mortals.
According to folklore, she rejected all approaches in the hope that her husband would soon return. To occupy her time in Odysseus’ absence, she mastered the art of weaving and produced magnificent pieces which were greatly admired across the Kingdom of Ithaca.
This unique set of earrings embraces the nature of the story in the form of a sterling silver frame surrounding a woven fabric centrepiece. Rather like a classic painting, they have many tales to tell.
