The Meliae
The Meliae
In Ancient Greece the Meliae were tree deities particularly associated with Ash trees. These beautiful nymphs were revered for the parental care they took for Zeus, the King of the Gods throughout his infancy. They symbolised love, affection and their dedication to nature. They were also renowned for their strength, kindness and fidelity. Nymphs were considered to be descended from celestial beings, immortal and with great allure, power and influence. They were divine beings with a sensitive yet playful nature.
This gold ring is an embodiment of the Meliae. Their passionate loving nature, their fortitude and commitment in carrying out their duties and their caring parental instincts. The ring reflects tree bark embellished with three engraved wooden grain circles. Each circle represents a different element: parental love and respect, marital love, and a commitment to work committedly for the benefit of both family and humanity.
